Symposium Overview
The Graduate Student Education Council (GSEC) and the College of Education at Purdue invite submissions for the Annual Graduate Student Educational Research Symposium (AGSERS) to be held Friday, March 29th, 2024. This year’s theme, A Culturally Responsive Post-Pandemic Education: Technology, Policy, and Innovation, points to the current issues that the education system is facing in a post-pandemic society. We extend an invitation to graduate AND undergraduate students from all departments at Purdue University and other universities doing research related to education. Presenters can enter completed work OR work in progress.
Formats
There will be three formats presenters can use to share their work:
(1) Poster Presentations,
(2) Three-Minute Thesis Round-table Presentations, and
(3) Podium Talks.
Podium presentations and round table presentations will not be judged.
For those joining from a distance, the round table presentation will have a virtual option via zoom.
Submitting Your Research
Presenters who have multiple projects can also choose to present during TWO of the poster, three-minute thesis, and roundtable sessions, but can only present once at each session. Each session should be entered separately.
All proposals should be submitted by 11:59PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Presentation Formats
1. Poster Presentations (in person)
Judged for the Best Poster Award: Poster sessions combine graphic display of materials with the opportunity for individualized, informal discussion of the research throughout a 60-minute session. Presenters will create a poster to display during the session and attendees will walk around the session viewing posters. Be prepared to summarize your poster, expand on elements of your poster, and answer questions. It is suggested you bring business cards or a handout for those interested in more information. Abstract max 200 words.
2. Three-Minute Thesis Round-table Presentations (in person and virtual)
Round-table presentations are back by popular demand! Participants will be grouped together in small groups to share their research. This will be a chance to receive more in-depth peer-to-peer feedback regarding the state of your ongoing research. People may solicit casual feedback or may ask those in attendance for feedback and support on a specific aspect of their research. Observers may sit in and listen in on your discussions. The discussions will be moderated to ensure that each presenter has equal chance to share. Abstract max 200 words. The virtual option is available to those presenting away from campus and will be in a zoom room.
3. Podium Talks (in person)
Podium talks are ten-minute research presentations. This extended time period will allow presenters to go more in-depth discussions about their research. Each talk is followed by five-minute Q&A sessions.

Call for AGSERS 2024 Judges
Symposium Overview: Each year the Graduate Student Education Council (GSEC) hosts its Annual Graduate Student Education Research Symposium (AGSERS). This year’s theme, A Culturally Responsive Post-Pandemic Education: Technology, Policy, and Innovation, points to the current issues that the education system is facing in a post-pandemic society.
GSEC asks that you consider serving as a judge for AGSERS 2024. AGSERS is a great opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain feedback in a friendly and productive environment. Judges support students’ research by scoring posters and/or Three-Minute Thesis based on established criteria and providing written feedback for improvement.
Judges will be asked to attend an informational session on March 25th. On the day of AGSERS 2024, we would like you to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled session. Three-Minute Thesis and poster presentations will be judged. If you have additional time, please support the podium talks. To account for requests for more time to judge posters, this year there will be optional time to view posters prior to the interactive poster session (view the detailed agenda below).
If you are available to serve as a judge, please complete the form linked below.
